Carlos Buby Canta na Entrega do Premio Guaracyano 2010
O evento de premiação aconteceu na Mataganza em São Paulo, na presença de 150 convidados. Além de receber o Prêmio das mãos do Carlos Buby, Ricardo Barreira foi homenageado com um show do artista, que contou com a participação das Irmãs Galvão e da dupla sertaneja, Sandra e Moacir.
Geografias mudam. Alguma dúvida? Então vejamos. Alguém, nos anos 80, diria que a China se tornaria uma das maiores potências econômicas do planeta ou que a Índia seria grande exportadora de tecnologia? Ou que a América do Sul sediaria os dois maiores eventos esportivos do mundo em uma mesma década? Mesmo no território brasileiro,vocações de regiões, estados e cidades mudam sem nenhum tipo de constrangimento. No passado, as religiões de matriz africana estavam mais ligadas ao Rio de Janeiro e Bahia. Hoje o cenário é diferente. E o maior exemplo é Bauru, no interior de São Paulo. A cidade que tem 360.000 habitantes e cujo lema é “ Sentinela Alerta”, apresenta-se como um importante pólo irradiador da cultura afro-brasileira e da tolerância religiosa. Se a lei municipal 10.639, aprovada em 2009, dedicou o dia 15 de novembro à comunidade umbandista de Bauru, a UmbandaFest, evento de cunho cultural e educacional que existe há 5 anos recebe a cada edição centenas de pessoas de todas as regiões do Brasil inserindo assim a cidade paulista no cenário religioso nacional.
Muitas dessas conquistas são resultados de um trabalho persistente e planejado do babalorixá Ricardo Barreira que recebeu dia 31 de julho o Prêmio Guaracyano 2010. A premiação foi o resultado de uma pesquisa inédita realizada pelo Templo Guaracy no ano de 2009 com o objetivo de identificar jovens, entre 18 e 40 anos, que desenvolvem trabalhos importantes em favor da Umbanda no Brasil e no mundo. Dentre diversos líderes espirituais que merecem reconhecimento, a comissão composta por brasileiros, europeus e norte americanos, escolheu Ricardo Barreira, que carrega como credenciais o fato de ser Umbandista, sacerdote do Templo de Umbanda Cacique Thunan, fundador do Instituto Sócio Cultural Umbanda Fest e presidente da Federação de Umbanda e Candomblé do Estado de São Paulo “Reino de Oxalá”.
Aos 32 anos, esse paulista, pai de duas meninas, é também palestrante e apresentador de rádio. O início de seu trabalho remonta ao ano de 1996, quando aos 18 anos lança um boletim (que daria origem ao jornal Umbanda Sagrada) com o objetivo de unir a comunidade umbandista bauruense e desmistificar a religião na cidade. Com o passar do tempo, e com os primeiros objetivos atendidos, o boletim começou a trazer questões mais complexas em suas matérias, expandindo seus horizontes. Foi então que Barreira percebeu que era hora de um outro projeto, tão audacioso quanto o próprio nome: MACUMBA, Movimento de Ação Comunitária Umbandista, que tinha como meta desenvolver ações sociais e mostrar que a religião tinha o objetivo de apoiar o desenvolvimento das pessoas e da sociedade e não fazer mal , como muitos erroneamente acreditavam. Segundo o próprio Ricardo “ Se as pessoas aceitassem a MACUMBA, aceitar a Umbanda seria mais fácil”.
E a aceitação se deu. E com ela mais um passo no caminho de divulgar a Umbanda para o mundo:a criação da UmbandaFest , então com propósitos artísticos e culturais. OMACUMBA virou Instituto Sócio Cultural Umbanda Fest e o trabalho aumentou. Eventos, reportagens, trabalhos sociais, articulações políticas surgiram com a fundação do Instituto, responsável pela maior festa cultural das religiões afro-brasileiras, reunindo os maiores nomes artísticos da área.
Em paralelo, uma série de ações mobilizadoras se desenvolveram. A campanha “ Umbanda, eu visto esta camisa” virou febre em Bauru. Os umbandistas decidiram mostrar sua força e saíram às ruas com a camiseta do movimento. O propósito era claro. Se a religião pregava a paz, o amor, por que escondê-la? Em todos os lugares da cidade e via, e ainda se vê, pessoas passeando com o slogan no peito, e no coração.
Ricardo também decidiu ir aos jovens plantar a semente do respeito ao semelhante. Em escolas e faculdades, começou a dar palestras mostrando a Umbanda real, sem estigmas e mistérios.Sem buscar converter, os encontros, que acontecem até hoje, têm o objetivo de apresentar a única religião genuinamente brasileira. Como Barreira diz “Temos que mostrar a profunda ligação da Umbanda com a nossa cultura e tirar qualquer culpa dos jovens pela imagem errônea que carregam de nossos cultos”. Além do caráter sociológico e antropológico, o pai-de-santo procura mostrar a outra face da Umbanda: a de defensora da Natureza. A sustentabilidade, palavra hoje na moda, existe nos umbandistas há muito tempo, já que a Força de cada Orixá está na própria Natureza. Por essa razão, outra campanha foi para as ruas : “ Sou umbandista e respeito a Natureza”. Segundo Ricardo, esta é a terceira porta por onde a Umbanda se faz visível. As duas outras são as ações comunitárias e seu caráter artístico- cultural.
Segundo o diretor espiritual e fundador do Templo Guaracy, Carlos Buby: “há mais de quatro décadas tenho percebido que as maiores resistências enfrentadas pela nossa Umbanda não são os preconceitos externos e sim os equívocos praticados por alguns bem intencionados umbandistas. O desejo de provar que a Umbanda é uma religião comprometida com o bem é tão grande que muitas vezes extrapola o bom senso e acaba se transformando em guerras contraditórias, fundamentadas em verdades relativas. Ricardo Barreira tem, ao longo dos anos, demonstrado que é mais consistente elevar o nome da nossa religião através do trabalho realizado com ética, do que apenas com discursos futuristas, quase sempre, provedores de confrontos. Trata-se de um jovem Sacerdote umbandista cujo trabalho representa a revitalização dos valores sagrados da Umbanda e a inserção dos cultos afro-brasileiros na compreensão do mundo moderno”, completa Carlos Buby.
Não é a primeira vez que um prêmio é concedido pelo Templo Guaracy à pessoas que buscam em suas vidas, não necessariamente religiosas, trazer uma consciência ampliada da Espiritualidade na Natureza e nas Artes. Em 2008, o compositor Paulo Cesar Pinheiro também recebeu da instituição o símbolo da Filosofia Guaracyana esculpido em uma pedra verde e cuja foto ilustra um capítulo de seu novo livro "Historias Das Minhas Canções”, lançado este ano pela Editora Leya Brasil.
Questionado sobre os próximos passos, o sacerdote premiado apresenta seu novo projeto: o programa Axé Odara, o novo programa de radio irá ao ar todos os sábados das 10h00 às12h00, na rádio Atitude ( 87,9 FM).
